How to request an appointment

Our online system

You can request an appointment to see your GP by using our online system. Click the link below to do this.

Calling the surgery

We understand online consultations are not suitable for everyone, so if you’re unable, or not wishing to submit an SystmConnect, give us a call.

Our phone lines open at 08:00am. Please note our busiest times are usually between 08:00am – 09:00am, and generally all day on a Monday (or after a bank holiday), so you may experience a longer waiting time before your call is answered.

Types of appointments

At Westbury Group Practice, we offer different appointments to help you get the care you need as soon as possible.

Telephone Appointments

Please note that our appointment system means we must book a telephone call appointment for a specific time, for example 10:40 or 16:10, but we cannot guarantee this will occur at that specific time.
Telephone call appointments booked for a morning slot will take happen between 08:00 and 13:00. Those booked in an afternoon slot will happen between 13:00 and 18:30.

Blood Clinics

If a clinician has asked you attend a blood test please contact the surgery using either SystmConnect or by phoning and speaking to a member of the Reception team.

The pathology labs for both the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath and Salisbury District Hospital (SDH) send transport to surgeries to collect their samples, including blood test samples. We do receive requests to take blood samples from the consultants at both the RUH and SDH.

As the RUH come to the surgery everyday we can take bloods for the RUH on any day. However, SDH visit on Tuesdays and Fridays only, so we can only take bloods for SDH on those days.

Please can we ask that you clarify if the sample is for SDH when you request such a blood test appointment - so that we can ensure you are booked-in on the correct day, these being either a Tuesday or a Friday.

Thank you

Routine appointments

It is our aim to give you a routine appointment to see a GP within 48 hours of receiving your online request. Our ability to do this will depend on clinician availability and levels of patient demand.

Urgent appointments

If your appointment is urgent, we’ll arrange for a GP to see you on the same day. Patients requesting urgent clinical appointments or reviews should make their request either by attending the practice in person or by telephone.

You can also call NHS 111 for general medical advice.
